Feature available for all editions of the software.
Before you begin: Please note that permissions to your access profile may be required to perform the following steps. We invite you to validate your access with your software administrator.
The following permission must be checked in your access profile in order to be able to use this feature:
There are two methods available for opening a document in the PDF viewer. The default behavior is determined in your employee matter preferences.
Double-clicking the document opens it in the PDF viewer
Select the document you want to view and then click the View PDF icon
Documents can be opened from the Documents tab in the main menu or from the Documents tab in a matter.
The following interface will be displayed:
Back
Click this button to return to the list of documents.
Sidebar tools menu
Click on this button to display the sidebar.
Click on the arrow to display the different view options.

Page
Allows you to navigate through the pages of the document by clicking on the arrows. Displays the current page you are on and indicates the total number of pages in the document.
It is also possible to manually enter the page number here.
Annotation selector
Allows you to select multiple annotations in the document.
Pan mode
Allows you to use the hand to scroll through the document.
Zoom
Allows you to view the document in a more general or closer view.
Fit page
Allows you to adjust the document to fit the screen.
Toggle full screen mode
Allows you to switch to full screen mode.
In full screen mode, click the button again or press the ESC key to exit full screen mode.
Page layout
Allows you to manage page layout options.

Content editor
Allows you to modify, add and delete text fields in the document.
Please refer to the Content editor function article for a detailed explanation of all available options.
Ink tool
The Ink tool allows you to draw, highlight, highlight text, and erase.
Click on the arrow to display the various options available.

Image tool
The Image tool allows you to add images, stamps and links.
Click on the arrow to display the various options available.

Note
Allows you to add notes to the document.

Text tool
Allows you to add text or callouts to the document.
Click on the arrow to display the various options available.

Shapes tool
Allows you to add shapes to the document.
Click on the arrow to display the various options available.

Document editor
Allows you to edit the pages of the document, crop the pages of the document or attach a document from the matter.
Click on the arrow to display the various options available.

Search in the document
Allows you to search within the document.
Click on the magnifying glass to bring up the search menu. Enter the term you are looking for in the "Search Document" field. The search will start automatically as you type in the search field.
The number of results will be displayed.
Click on the arrows to navigate between the results.
Click on the X to close the search menu.
Allows you to print the document.
Save
Allows you to save the document.
When you click on this button, a window will pop up. You will be asked how you want to save the document in the matter.
Replace: Overwrites the original document in the matter with the current version in the PDF viewer.
Keep the two files separate: Saves an additional copy of the document in the matter and adds a number at the end of the original file name. This lets you preserve both the original document and the modified document.
Skip: Cancels the saving of the document.
Download PDF
Allows you to download the PDF document.
Note: If the document you are viewing is in a format other than PDF (e.g., .doc, .png, etc.), it will be downloaded as a PDF file rather than in its original format.

Some features are available when text is highlighted with the mouse in the PDF viewer.
