Ink tool

What are the options for the Ink tool in the PDF viewer?

Feature available for all editions of the software.

Before you begin: Please note that permissions to your access profile may be required to perform the following steps. We invite you to validate your access with your software administrator.


Here are the different options available for the Ink tool in the PDF viewer.


Drawing


The following menu will appear:

  1. Color

  2. Fill color

  3. Opacity

  4. Size

  5. Blend mode

Color and Fill color

Select a color or a fill color.

Add a custom color

Custom colors can be added from the Color menu and the Fill color menu. They are shared between the two menus.

Click on the + to add a custom color.

Use the two buttons in the small preview window to achieve the desired shade.

It is also possible to enter an HEX or RGB number.

Then click on Add.

Custom colors will appear as follows:

Delete a custom color

In the Custom colors section, select the color to delete. Click on the - to delete it.

Opacity

Move the slider to select the desired opacity.

Size

Move the slider to select the desired size.

Blend mode

Click on the arrow to display all available blending modes. A checkmark will indicate the selected blending mode.

Once you have finished your settings, you can start drawing in your document.


Freeform highlight


Same interface and features as the Drawing function.

By default, the freeform highlight color is yellow, the size is 30 and the blend mode is Multiply.

Once you have finished adjusting the settings, highlight freely in your document using your mouse.


Text highlighter


The following menu will appear:

  1. Color

  2. Opacity

  3. Blend mode

Color

Select one color from the four available colors.

Opacity

Move the slider to select the desired opacity.

Blend mode

By default, the blending mode for the highlighter is set to Multiply.

You can choose another blending mode by clicking the arrow to display the available options.

Once you have finished your settings, use your mouse to highlight the desired text.


Eraser


It is possible to adjust the size of the eraser.

You can use the eraser to erase annotations made with the Drawing and the Freeform highlight function.
