Text tool

What are the options for the Text tool of the PDF viewer?

Feature available for all editions of the software.

Before you begin: Please note that permissions to your access profile may be required to perform the following steps. We invite you to validate your access with your software administrator.


Here are the different options available for the Text tool in the PDF viewer.


Text


The following menu will appear:

  2. Fill color

  3. Opacity

  4. Font

  5. Font size

  6. Horizontal alignment

  7. Vertical alignment

Font color and Fill color

Select a font color or fill color from the default options.

Add a custom color

Custom colors can be added from the Font color menu and the Fill color menu. They are shared between the two menus.

Click on the + to add a custom color.

Use the two buttons in the small preview to achieve the desired shade.

Is is also possible to enter a HEX or RGB number.

Then, click on Add.

Custom colors will appear as follows:

Delete a custom color

In the Custom colors section, select the color you want to delete. Click on the - to delete it.

Opacity

Move the slider to select the desired opacity.


Font

Click on the small arrow to display the available font choices. Select the font you want to use. A checkmark will appear next to the selected font.

Font size

To select the font size, click on the arrow to display the preset sizes.

It is also possible to manually enter the desired size in the field.

Horizontal alignment

Allows you to align the text block to the left, center, or right.

Vertical alignment

Allows you to align the text block at the top, in the middle or at the bottom.

Add a text

Click where you want to add text. A text box will appear. Write your text. The text box will automatically adjust to fit the text you enter.

Modify the text

Double-click on the text field you entered with this function. You can then make your changes.

Delete the text

Click on the text field you entered with this function. Then click on the trash can icon.

The following message will appear, click Delete.

Move the text

Click on the text you want to move and hold down the mouse button. Move the text to the desired location and the release the mouse button.

Rotate the text

Click on the text you want to rotate.

Click on this point and, while holding down the mouse button, rotate the text to the left or right using your mouse. Release the mouse button when the text is in the desired direction.

The following menu will appear:

Font color, fill color and border color

Select a font color, fill color or border color from the default options.

Add a custom color

Add a callout

Click where you want to add a callout. A text box with an arrow will appear. Write your text. The text box will automatically adjust to fit the text you enter.

Modify the callout text

Double-click on the text field of the callout. You can then make your changes.

Delete callout

Click on the callout. Then click on the trash can icon.

The following message will appear, click Delete.

Move callout

Click on the callout you want to move and hold down the mouse button. Move the callout to the desired location and then release the mouse button.

Adjust the callout arrow

Use the blue anchor points to move the arrow in the legend.
