Use of the Ethical Wall
The term "Ethical Wall" refers to a function that ensures the confidentiality of data related to a matter by restricting access to authorized persons.
In the legal field, it also means preventing a person or persons from having access to information in the file. This may be necessary, for example, in the context of a lawyer joining a new firm, resulting in a conflict of interest with respect to a particular file or client. An Ethical Wall can then be put in place for that file to avoid a conflict of interest.
Effect of the Ethical Wall
When an Ethical Wall is activated, only authorized persons have access to this matter. They are also the only ones to see it in the matters list.
For unauthorized persons, this matter is simply invisible.
Check if a file is under Ethical Wall
Only a profile with access to the matters under Ethical Wall or an authorized person in these matters can check if they are protected.

A user with the System Administrator access profile has full rights and will be able to access ALL matters under Ethical Wall.
The permission "Ethical wall" can be added to an access profile in order for the employees with this profile to access matters under Ethical Wall.
