Feature available for all editions of the software
Before you begin: Please note that permissions to your access profile may be required to perform the following steps. We invite you to validate your access with your software administrator.
NEW
Change in double-click behavior in the Documents tab.
Old double-click behavior
Double-clicking on a document automatically downloads the document.
New double-click behavior
It is now possible to view documents directly in the software.
To view a document, simply double-click on the document to open it in the viewer.
Documents can be opened from the Documents tab in the main menu or from the Documents tab in a matter.
The following interface will be displayed:
View in the PDF viewer in Editor mode
All viewing and editing features are available in this mode.
View in PDF viewer in Read only mode
Only viewing features will be available. It will not be possible to make changes to the PDF document.
Downloading document with the new behavior
The new PDF viewer can display a variety of file formats. However, if the viewer's download button is used, the file will be converted and saved as a PDF.
To download your documents directly in their original format, select the document you want to download and click Download or Download and lock.
New permissions in the access profile
New permissions have been added to the access profiles for this new behavior.
By default, the "PDF Editor (Read only)" permission will be checked in all profiles other than System Administrator.
The "PDF Editor (All)" permission will only be checked in the System Administrator profile.
Choice between two double-click behaviors
Employees can decide which double-click behavior they prefer.
To change this, go to your employee matter and click on the Preferences tab:
Save your changes with the green check mark.
NOTE: If you do not have access to the preferences tab or the green check mark does not appear to save, it means that you do not have access in your employee profile. The following permissions must be checked in your access profile so that you can view this window and save your changes. Consult your system administrator to add these permissions.
The Employees management permission allows the user to view employee matters. For the employee to have access only to their own employee file, the Employees access in their employee info must be set to Current user.
Articles detailing all the features of the PDF viewer will be available shortly.
