Are you having trouble producing a JurisDocument, i.e. a document from a template?
Check out the following sections to find the solution!
Before starting, you should obviously make sure that your add-on is installed and up to date. If you are unsure, see the following article: Installing or updating the add-on.
The icon Produce a document - JurisDocument is non-existent
If you do not have the above icon, you must first check where you are located in the software.
The icon for the production of a JurisDocument is only accessible at the following locations:
In the Person tab of the main menu
In the Matter tab of the main menu
In the Summary tab of a matter
In the Documents tab of a matter
In the Transactions tab of a Company Book matter
If you are in the right place and the icon does not appear, you must ask your system administrator to validate that the following accesses are part of your access profile:
The icon Produce a document - JurisDocument is engaged
When you are in the Person tab or the Matter tab of the main menu and you want to produce JurisDocument, you have to tell the software from which person or matter you want to do it.
In this sense, if no person or matter is selected beforehand, the icon will remain set.
Therefore, in order to produce a JurisDocument from one of the tabs in the main menu, be sure to select either the person or the matter you want.
Error message in Word
There are two reasons why you may get this error message when you try to produce a document from JurisDocument.
A) Installing the complement
First of all, you must validate that the add-on is installed on your workstation. If you have not installed the add-on, you can do so by consulting the following article: Install or update your add-on.
B) Configure the default application
If the add-on is installed, you should also check that the default application to open a .jcw file is JEWebClient.
This is because the document templates in JurisEvolution are not ordinary files with the .docx extension like Word documents. Instead, the templates have a .jcw extension and must be opened by the add-in.
To do this configuration, follow these steps:
Step 1: Click on the Windows icon in the lower left corner of the screen.
Step 2: Search for "Default Apps" and click on "Open".
Step 3: Scroll down and click on the "Choose default applications by file type" option.
Step 4: Associate the .jcw file type with the JEWebClient application.
