To determine the appropriate action to take when dealing with suppliers, identify which of the following statements best describes the situation:

  • If the supplier returns a payment (sometimes for an incorrect amount) but the balance owed remains the same, proceed with a refund.

  • If the supplier reduces the amount you owe, proceed with a credit.

  • If the supplier returns a payment and reduces the balance due, proceed with a credit & refund.
