Before you start: Please note that permissions to your access profile may be required to perform the following steps. We invite you to validate your access with your software administrator.

The cancel icon is engaged

Sometimes the "Cancel Transaction" icon is engaged, which makes it impossible to cancel the invoice.

This is the case when the period in which the invoice to be cancelled is located is subject to a tax refund in the software. Depending on the permissions of your access profile, it is also possible that the "Cancel transaction" icon is engaged because the invoice to cancel is included in a closed period or fiscal year.

A warning message tells me that the date is included in a closed period or fiscal year.

Again depending on your access profile permissions, the "Cancel Transaction" icon may be available, but a warning message may be displayed telling you that the invoice is included in a closed period or fiscal year.

The cancellation of an invoice included in a closed period or fiscal year impacts the financial reports for that period or year.

Note that you can still cancel the invoice. However, we strongly suggest that you consult your accountant before doing so.

Results:

  • If the tax remittance is made for the period in question, it will not be possible to make the "Cancel" icon available again. It will then be necessary to counter the invoice with the reverse transaction, i.e. a "Credit Note", which will be taken into account in the next tax remittance;

  • If the cancellation is blocked only by the inclusion of the invoice in a closed period, it will be possible to reopen the period;

  • It is not possible to reopen a closed fiscal year.

Version 20.23.46 offers a new feature: Reverse an invoice
