Before you begin: Please note that permissions to your access profile may be required to perform the following steps. We invite you to validate your access with your software administrator.

Step 1: Click on the "Admin" tab in the main menu.

Step 2: Click on the "Finance" tile in the "Template Management" section.

Step 3: Click on the "Add" icon and select the "Statements" option from the drop-down menu.

Step 4: Name your account statement template and, if necessary, describe it.

Step 5: Select the settings you want to apply to the Account Statement template.

Note that if the "Save PDF copy to matter" option is not checked, no copy of the statement will be kept once it is accepted.

Step 6: Click on "Add" under the "Documents to be produced" section.

Step 7: Select the "Reports" option in the "New documents to generate" window that appears.

Select the account statement template format from the list and click "Accept" to confirm the selection.

Step 8: A JurisDocument Template and a JurisDocument Email can be added to be generated when the account statement is accepted when it is generated from a matter.

If an email is added, it will open with the attached account statement ready to be sent to the email configured in the folder preferences. The email will not open with an account statement affecting several folders.

Click on Templates (JurisDocument). Select the relevant template or email and click "Accept" to confirm the selection.

Step 9: Indicate the annual interest rate and grace period to be considered for interest calculation on the statement.

Note that the "Charge Interest" checkbox will automatically create an interest invoice in the matter when the statement is accepted. By not checking the box, interest will be calculated and displayed on the statement, but will not be automatically billed to the client.

Step 10: If necessary, enter a message to be displayed at the bottom of the statement.

Step 11: Click "Save and Close" to finalize the creation of the account statement template.
